Arabic Scrabble

We knew that you could play Scrabble in other languages. But we didn't realize there was a version with non-roman characters - namely Arabic. Beautiful tiles, aren't they? More info here.

Why do I get the feeling my Scrabble scores wouldn't be much worse with this version. :)

Some time ago, the Palm people had an advert - or some kind of a marketing piece - that showed a Scrabble game with tiles of the Graffiti gestures for writing on the Palm screen. I thought it was pretty cool, and tried to get one, but it was only a mock up, apparently...

I just started taking an Arabic class a few weeks ago...so while this might help me remember the characters, something tells me I'm not quite ready for gameplay yet. Still, great find!

Scrabble has just been released in Welsh. Is the game undergoing some sort of resurgence?

The original link to the Singaporean Scrabble ads may be dead, but thanks to the magic that is Google cache, I present them for your viewing pleasure...

That's nice, but I'm not so good in arabic. I learn it by myself in spare time, so I'm not sure that my level is enough for playing scrabble. However I will try.

Apparently, Arabic language Scrabble sets are available from Game Keeper located in Arlington, VA. You'll have to contact them yourself to find out whether this is actually the case.
